Welcome Letter from the Acting President of WPSP

January 2024

Dear Colleagues,

I have been honored to serve as the Acting President of the Washington Professionals for the Study of Psychoanalysis since 2019.  I very much look forward to getting to know each of you and to learning of your interests and concerns.

Among our successful programs in recent years were “Immigrants’ Journeys” presented by Rosana Marzullo-Dove, PsyD and Nahid Aziz, PsyD; and “Selma Fraiberg’s Magic Years: Clinician, Researcher, Writer” presented by Joel Kanter, MSW, LCSW and Rebecca Mahayag, MSW, LCSW-C.  In addition to the virtual Mother of George conference on May 3, 2020 other programs are currently being planned.  As we move forward, our seminars, salons, and conferences will provide all members with excellent educational opportunities, as well as opportunities for networking and collaboration.  Our affiliation with Division 39, the Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology also provides excellent opportunities, locally and nationally.

Please join or renew and urge your colleagues and your graduate students to become members.  WPSP offers many seminars for our members to earn free CEUs in small groups which meet in members’ homes and offices or virtually .  Any member may start a seminar on a topic of interest.  Our member benefits may be found on the WPSP website – WPSPdc.org.
